I twittered about this earlier today, but it is so fascinating I felt I had to dig a little deeper.

Nicholas Felton is a New York based Graphic Designer. His specialty is Information Graphics and his work is often published in the most well known magazines. Specialty might even be an understatement as he each year also creates the most fascinating personal Annual Reports.

The reports are a summary of last year’s activities – each year with a different angle and focus.

For the Annual Report of 2009 Felton asked each person, with whom he had a meaningful encounter, to submit a record of this meeting through an online survey. Parents, old friends, the dentist – everyone was included.

Based on these records he then illustrates the encounters in terms of location, mood, food eaten, activity, relationship, topic, etc. Everything is presented with graphic perfection, Swiss style, and tremendous attention to detail. You realize what an enormous amount of work that lays behind it.

The reports can be seen, and even ordered in print, at feltron.com
